The word ‘remedy’ literally means ‘to heal or to fix’. Similarly, remedial education is intended to help children catch up to the level of learning competency that is expected of them at their age.
Remedial education is the concept of re-teaching and reinforcing the taught basic skills to improve a child’s outcomes in current or future coursework. It is an intervention program to target basic skills such as phonics, reading, writing and number sense with the goal of raising the child’s ability to the standard expected of their age (to ‘remediate’ the problem before it becomes worse). Alternatively, “learning gaps” are bridged. It assists children to achieve expected competencies in core academic skills such as literacy and numeracy.
Children who are struggling with a particular subject or skill may feel discouraged and overwhelmed, which can lead to a lack of motivation and a decrease in their academic performance, affecting the child’s overall personality.
Our team focuses on offering academic assistance to children who have social, learning, focus or physical difficulties and may need academic content supplements to traditional schooling. The educators help in promoting lifelong learning among children to understand their own learning styles and equip them with techniques to overcome their difficulties. This self-awareness fosters a positive attitude towards learning and encourages them to become enduring learners. With an RCI – certified (Rehabilitation Council of India) team, we firmly believe in ensuring that challenges become opportunities and trials turn into triumphs!
We ensure children reach their full potential!

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my child struggling in school even though they seem intelligent at home?
Children may face challenges in school due to different learning environments, teaching methods, attention issues, or emotional stress. Intelligence doesn’t always guarantee academic success without the right support.
How do I know if my child needs remedial education or just more academic support?
If your child is still struggling despite consistent help (like tutoring or extra practice), it may be time to consider a professional evaluation to identify specific learning needs.
Is remedial education only for kids with diagnosed learning disorders?
No. Remedial education can support any child who has gaps in foundational skills, even if they don’t have a formal diagnosis.
Will enrolling my child in remedial sessions make them feel like they’re “less than”?
When framed positively, remedial support feels empowering. It’s important to explain that everyone learns differently and sometimes extra help is just a smarter way to learn.
How long does remedial intervention usually take to show results?
Every child is different, but noticeable improvement can typically be seen within 3–6 months of consistent support. Progress may be quicker or slower depending on the child’s needs and engagement.
Can remedial education help if my child has attention or focus issues?
Yes. Many remedial programs are tailored to support attention challenges and include strategies to build focus and self-regulation.
Is this going to interfere with my child’s regular schoolwork or curriculum?
Remedial sessions are often designed to complement—not replace—schoolwork. They help strengthen skills that support classroom success.
What specific skills or subjects does remedial education usually target?
Common areas include reading, writing, comprehension, spelling, basic math, and study skills. Sessions are tailored to your child’s unique gaps.
How can I explain remedial support to my child without making it sound like a punishment?
Use positive language. You can say, “This is extra coaching to help you feel more confident and strong in school—like training for a sport.”
What are the signs that remedial education is actually working?
Look for improvements in confidence, participation, homework completion, grades, and willingness to try. Teachers may also report changes.
My child reads well aloud but doesn’t understand what they read—could this mean they need remedial help?
Yes. This is often a sign of weak comprehension skills, which remedial education can effectively target.
What if my child is great at speaking but struggles badly with writing?
This could indicate a language processing issue or writing-specific difficulty. A targeted remedial program can help bridge that gap.
Should I wait and see if my child improves on their own or start remedial sessions now?
Early intervention is usually best. Waiting may widen the learning gap and impact your child’s confidence.
How do I know if it’s a learning issue or just laziness?
Consistent struggle, frustration, and low confidence often point to a learning issue—not laziness. A professional assessment can help clarify.
What if my child resists help or says they don't want tutoring?
Children may resist due to fear or embarrassment. Involve them in the process, offer encouragement, and choose an educator who builds trust and engagement.
